Hi again!!! My partner and I have decided to add thriller into the mix, our film opening is now going to be horror/thriller. We've decided upon this because we felt that our target audience fits perfectly with the theme. With our target audience being 15-25 years old our production has to be up to date. We chose to go the thriller route due to the many amazing productions. One of the best thriller movies is "Psycho" directed by Alfred Hitchcock. We did an analysis essay on this movie during class, and it intrigued me how the thriller genre has be around for so long. The film was produced in 1960, had a $806,947 production budget, and the domestic total gross was $32,000,000 according to box office. Another major thriller movie is "Get Out", directed by Jordan Peele; it was just recently nominated for an Oscar for Best Motion Picture. The movie had a $5,000,000 production budget and made over $255,090,124 in worldwide box office. For other information about the movie you can go on The numbers . I personally loved this movie and how it was produced, it made you think of what was going on with the thriller sense still going on. My partner and I personally love horror/thriller movies. I think they keep me on the edge of my feet all the way towards the end. In film site they stated that this kind of film promotes a sense of anticipation, suspense, and excitement. Our plot of the movie is based on a new girl moving into a small town and getting settled with her surroundings. As she's getting ready to start her first day at school, she meets a guy that is crazy obsessed with her. Following her around, finding out where she lives, and not leaving her alone. She tries everything to keep him away, but all odds fail. He just becomes crazier as time goes on. We have a teenage girl as the main character due to our target audience being mostly teenagers. This movie shows the innocence and vulnerability of a high school girl, letting others relate to her. Anything like this can happen to anyone without noticing. I'll keep you guys updated with any other things we brainstorm, and how our production is going. I really hope what we're trying to portray comes out in the way we're thinking of it! I have so many ideas, I'm so excited!
Sincerely,
Isa
