Finding the perfect sound

Hey what's up guys!! Welcome back to another exciting week. Today in class we got time to work on our projects and keep the process going. In this blog I'm going to be talking about the soundtrack, editing software, and the weather problems. I've started researching soundtracks used in horror movies to get a general idea of what we're suppose to aim for. In the websites I've found mostly all the same horror movies pop up that have generally the same soundtrack. In Collider and nme both made a list of the best horror movie soundtrack and explained why. This helped me get a better understanding of the sounds and how they work with what's going on in the scene. Sound is a very essential tool in horror movies it's what makes the audience feel the suspense, terror, thriller all at once. Personally when I watch horror movies the sounds is what always gets me, no matter what's on the screen the noise that follows it makes the movie more tense. So obviously, having a good soundtrack is important for our project. But we realized that whatever music we got we had to get the copyright from the owner. While researching the music we came upon this website and Mrs.Stoklosa had recommended it for us, which is called purple planet. This websites has categories on upbeat, tense, drama, relaxing, and many more. Once you click on one of the categories a set of sounds are going to come up and on the top right side corner you see a "download" button and it allows you to download it onto your computer. My partner and I have decided to use "Inferno" in the horror background category and "Outcast" under the creepy section. We decided upon this because we felt like it went with what we're going to film and helps set our story. As far as editing we were looking at editing softwares we would use and realized that mostly all of them were very expensive, so we decided on sticking to the latest version of iMovie.  Today we were going to start filming some of our stuff but as always the weather in South Florida didn't allow this, while deciding where to shoot it started pouring on us so we had to stop and try another day. Muchisimas gracias por su tiempo y pronto les cuento mas! (Thank you so much for your time and soon I'll let you know more!)

Sincerely,
Isa
